| Painting has always been my passion. Painting places, people and even their pets is a privilege. After graduating from Florida State University, where I was formally trained in watercolor painting, oil painting, figurative drawing, ceramics, sculpture, portraiture, I have spent the past 15 years developing my skills as an artist. In 1995 I founded my company, Erin Marie Designs, working as an independent contract artist creating decorative murals, hand-painted furnishings and custom paintings for clients across the Southeast. Painting children’s rooms is my favorite project. I love the creativity it allows and I enjoy the child’s reaction when they see their beautiful new room. Rooms can be customized with anything from simple borders to detailed murals, depending on the client’s needs. Custom canvases for children’s rooms have become a growing facet of my business. These pieces are a fun way to add a very special personalized touch. Examples can be viewed on this web site. I also specialize in custom portraiture. My portfolio includes watercolor and acrylic paintings of children, pets, homes and boats. I prefer to paint from photographs provided by the client or myself. Working primarily from photographs provides the client flexibility and allows me more creative license. Being a native Floridian, I have developed a true appreciation of our State’s simple natural beauty and rich architectural history. Living in Miami provides me the perfect surroundings for the tropical “still life” paintings and “plein air” inspired landscapes.
